Macao Association for Higher Education Development Holds Q4 2025 Work Meeting at Macau Millennium College

On 22 October 2025, Macao Association for Higher Education Development held its Q4 2025 Work Meeting at the Taipa campus of Macau Millennium College (“MMC”). This meeting was organised by the Macao Association for Higher Education Development and hosted by MMC. It aimed to promote communication and cooperation between Macao’s higher education institutions and foster the collaborative development of high-quality higher education.

Guests attending the meeting included Mr Song Yonghua, President of the Macao Association for Higher Education Development and Rector of the University of Macau, Mr Li Yongle, Level III Division Rank Official of the Department of Education and Youth Affairs of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR, Mr Carlos Roberto Xavier, Head of the Department of Tertiary Education of the Education and Youth Development Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, Mr Joseph Hun-wei Lee, Chair of the Board of the Macao Association for Higher Education Development and Rector of the Macau University of Science and Technology, Mr Zhong Weihe, Chair of the Supervisory Board of the Macao Association for Higher Education Development and Rector of MMC, Mr Mok Kai Meng, Vice Rector of the University of Macau, Mr Lam Io Fan, Acting Rector of the Escola Superior das Forças de Segurança de Macau, Mr Ng San Fan, Acting Vice Rector of the Macao Polytechnic University, Ms Van Iat Kio, President of Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau, Mr Robert Chan Chon Pat, Pro-Rector of the City University of Macau, and Ms Koey Yu, representative of the Macau Institute of Management, among others.

The meeting summarised the main achievements of the Macao Association for Higher Education Development since its reorganisation and discussed the key work areas and directions for the next year. The participants engaged in in-depth discussions on various topics including the development of higher education, cultural construction of higher education, think tank development, training of young faculty, and cultural and sports activities in Macao.

After the meeting, the guests visited the campus facilities, smart classrooms, and the Smart Culture and Tourism Laboratory at the new Taipa campus of MMC, gaining first-hand knowledge of MMC’s campus construction and the new outcomes of its “Digital Intelligence+” curriculum development.

President Song Yonghua, on behalf of the Macao Association for Higher Education Development, highly praised the development philosophy, educational characteristics, and smart education layout of MMC.

The successful hosting of this work meeting not only further strengthened communication and collaboration among Macao’s higher education institutions but also injected new energy into the promotion of innovative development in Macao’s higher education and regional cooperation.
