Following thorough preparation and formal application procedures, and with the official approval of the China International Communications Group (CICG) Institute of International Studies and Advanced Training, Macau Millennium College (MMC) has been approved to establish a test centre for the “Certificate for Teachers of Chinese Cross-Cultural Communiation (CTCC)”—the first of its kind in Macao.

The CTCC exam is a competency-based assessment hosted by the Cross-lingual Teaching Aptitude Testing Service, Institute of International Studies and Advanced Training, CIGC. Based on the characteristics of disciplines such as Chinese, English and cross-lingual teaching, as well as actual teaching needs, the exam is designed to evaluate candidates across five key dimensions, including linguistic expression and application, cultural interpretation and communication, second language teaching design and organisation, intercultural communication and adaptability, and media literacy and planning. The exam aims to determine whether candidates possess the capabilities for international Chinese teaching and communication and whether they are qualified for cross-lingual communication of Chinese language and culture.

As a key institution for cultivating high-calibre multilingual talent in the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area, MMC has consistently upheld its educational philosophy of “East-West integration, industry-education synergy, and service to society”. Focusing on multilingual education and intercultural communication, MMC has made notable achievements in developing language teaching resources, cultivating faculty, and promoting international collaboration. The approval of the CTCC test centre not only provides convenient access for teachers, students, and community members aspiring to pursue a career in international Chinese teaching, but also further enhances MMC’s discourse power and influence in the field of international Chinese education. Looking ahead, MMC will leverage the test centre to continuously strengthen teaching capabilities, deepen cooperation with domestic and international educational institutions, and actively contribute to the development of the international Chinese communication system.
