Seven Satellites Sent into Orbit in Single Launch! Macau Millennium College Partners with Shaanxi Navigation Beidou to Mark a Milestone

On 19 August 2025, at 15:33, in Dongfeng Commercial Aerospace Innovation Experimental Zone, the Lijian-1 Yao-10 Carrier Rocket successfully launched AIRSAT-05, three Duo Gongneng Shiyan Weixing-2 satellites, Tianyan 26, and two Mexican satellites into their designated orbits. The flight test mission was a complete success.

Among the satellites launched, Tianyan 26 (also known as “Shaanxi Navigation 1”) was developed by Shaanxi Navigation Beidou Technology Co., Ltd. (“Shaanxi Navigation Beidou”). The low-earth orbit satellite features a platform-based single-frame structure, with core components modularly integrated. It was independently designed, developed, and produced by Shaanxi Navigation Beidou. Despite its compact body weighing only 50 kg, the satellite carries multiple advanced payloads, including visible light cameras, infrared cameras, and panoramic cameras, greatly enhancing its satellite data service capabilities.

As a strategic partner of Shaanxi Navigation Beidou, the flag of Macau Millennium College (“MMC”) flew at Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre, and MMC’s logo was sent into space alongside “Shaanxi Navigation 1”.

MMC plays a crucial technical support role in the international application of Shaanxi Navigation 1 and the subsequent satellite constellation network. Leveraging years of expertise in data compliance, trust, and security, MMC provides secure, compliant, and trusted computing services and technical guarantees for cross-border data processing related to Shaanxi Navigation Beidou’s commercial satellite group, particularly for Beidou-related equipment. Through innovative technical frameworks and rigorous compliance practices, MMC ensures that sensitive spatial information complies with regional and international standards during cross-border processing, providing key infrastructure support for the internationalisation of satellite applications.

This successful launch is not only a major breakthrough in the in-depth collaboration between MMC and Shaanxi Navigation Beidou but also marks MMC’s substantial progress in aligning with national space strategies, engaging in cutting-edge technological cooperation, implementing aerospace education promotion, and leveraging Macao’s “one country, two systems” and Chinese-Portuguese platform advantages. MMC will actively leverage its advantages in both Macao and its professional fields to provide critical support for compliant and secure cross-border processing and innovative application of the state’s space technology data, while further expanding new models for industry-university-institute integration and cross-regional cooperation.
