Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Smart Tourism and Entertainment Management* (Preparatory)

 

Programme Positioning

This programme is aligned with Macao’s “1+4” strategy for moderate economic diversification, responding to the upgrading needs of the smart tourism and digital entertainment industries. It aims to cultivate composite talents with professional knowledge in tourism management, digital technology application capabilities, and innovative thinking. The programme deeply integrates the “Digital Intelligence+” core strategy, empowering cultural tourism through technology, to produce applied professionals with international perspectives and practical capabilities for the smart cultural tourism industry in Macao and the Greater Bay Area.

 

Educational Objectives

This programme is grounded in Macao’s positioning as a “World Centre of Tourism and Leisure” and oriented towards the trend of cultural-tourism integration development in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. It is committed to cultivating high-quality smart cultural tourism management talents who are morally upright, theoretically solid, and practically outstanding. The programme aims to enable students to systematically master core knowledge and skills in smart tourism, entertainment management, big data analytics, and customer experience design, and to develop the ability to apply emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and VR/AR to solve practical industry problems. Graduates can work in smart scenic areas, luxury hotels, resorts, convention and exhibition groups, entertainment enterprises, and cultural tourism technology companies, engaging in professional work such as intelligent operations, digital marketing, user experience optimization, and project planning and management, contributing to the advancement of Macao’s tourism and entertainment industry towards intelligent, digital, and high-quality development.

 

Admission Requirements

–   Completion of a three-year secondary education with satisfactory results, or equivalent qualifications.

–   In addition to fulfilling the admission conditions specified above, applicants must sit an entrance examination organized by the school, and only those achieving the required standard in the entrance examination may be admitted.

–   Persons aged 23 or above who have been proven to possess relevant competencies and who achieve the required standard in the school’s entrance examination may be exempted from the above academic qualification requirements.

–   Students who have completed the Associate Degree Diploma Programme in Smart Tourism and Entertainment Management at our school may apply for direct admission to Year 3 of this programme.

 

Programme Duration

The standard duration for the full-time bachelor’s degree programme is 4 years. Students holding the Associate Degree Diploma in Smart Tourism and Entertainment Management from our school who are admitted as lateral transfers to Year 3 will have a standard duration of 2 years.

Graduation Requirements

Students who fulfil the following requirements and receive approval from the Academic and Teaching Committee may be awarded the Bachelor’s Degree in Smart Tourism and Entertainment Management:

(1) Completion of all requirements in the programme study plan with passing grades within the valid study period of the respective programme;

(2) Compliance with the student code of conduct;

(3) Settlement of all specified fees.

 

* Note: This programme is planned to commence in the 2026/2027 academic year and will officially operate upon completion of programme registration with the Education and Youth Development Bureau of Macao and publication in the Official Gazette of the Macao Special Administrative Region.

 

Associate Degree Diploma Programme in Smart Tourism and Entertainment Management* (Preparatory)

 

Programme Positioning

This programme aims to cultivate technical talents with foundational theoretical knowledge, practical application capabilities, and basic digital skills for industries related to smart tourism and entertainment in Macao and the Greater Bay Area. The curriculum design focuses on foundational management knowledge and vocational skills in tourism, hospitality, convention and exhibition, and entertainment industries, while guiding students to understand the direction of industry development under the trends of intelligentization and digitalization.

 

Educational Objectives

Through two years of systematic study, this programme enables students to establish a professional foundation in tourism and entertainment management, develop preliminary problem analysis and service innovation capabilities, and be competent for operational support, customer service, event coordination, and basic data processing work in frontline enterprise positions. The programme emphasizes the cultivation of professional ethics, teamwork, and workplace communication skills, helping students to become promising newcomers with developmental potential in the industry. Students who complete this programme may apply for direct admission to Year 3 of the Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Smart Tourism and Entertainment Management at our school, achieving a seamless “2+2” articulation pathway for further studies, laying a solid foundation for advanced studies or employment.
