
Call for Papers: Journal of Tourism Management Studies (JTMS)
Dear Tourism Research Scholars,
Greetings from the Editorial Board of the Journal of Tourism Management Studies (JTMS). Dedicated to advancing the academic frontiers of tourism management, we cordially invite you to submit your latest research achievements and insights to our journal.
The Journal of Tourism Management Studies (JTMS) is a semi-annual journal hosted by the School of Business Administration at Macau Millennium College. Notably, it stands as the first Chinese-language academic journal specializing in tourism management to be published outside of Mainland China. Based in Macao, connecting the Greater Bay Area, and embracing a global perspective, JTMS focuses on both theoretical developments and practical applications in tourism management. We are deeply committed to fostering academic innovation and industry growth, with a particular focus on emerging trends and industry dynamics within the context of globalization and digitization. Our ultimate mission is to build a high-level research and exchange platform for both academia and industry, driving theoretical innovation and industrial transformation.
The main scopes and areas of interest for submissions include, but are not limited to:
- Smart Tourism: Applications of emerging technologies such as Big Data, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and the Internet of Things (IoT) in the tourism industry, as well as innovative strategies for enhancing tourist experiences and operational efficiency.

- Digital Management: Innovations and challenges of digital transformation in tourism management, exploring new tourism paradigms and management mechanisms within the digital economy.

- Entertainment Management: The integration of culture and tourism, management of the leisure industry, entertainment marketing, and strategic pathways to promote the deep convergence of culture and tourism.

- Tourism Management Trends and Industry Development: Emerging trends in the global tourism market, the impacts of policy changes on the tourism sector, sustainable tourism development, and market competition strategies.

- Applied Research and Theoretical Studies in Tourism Management: Comprehensive studies including, but not limited to, consumer behavior, destination management, tourism marketing, service innovation, and green tourism.
To ensure the highest academic standards and innovative value of published works, JTMS strictly implements a rigorous double-blind peer review process.
Submission Guidelines:
- Language of Submission: Chinese
- Publication Frequency: Semi-annual (two issues per year)
- Submission Method: Please submit your manuscripts directly to our dedicated submission email: JTMS.submissions@mmc.edu.mo
- Originality: Submissions must be original research achievements that have not been published previously or are not currently under review by other publications.
- Formatting Requirements: Submitted manuscripts must strictly follow the journal’s formatting standards. For specific instructions, please refer to the attached document: JTMS Guidelines for Manuscript Formatting.

To ensure formatting consistency and standardization, authors are kindly requested to read the following requirements carefully and format their manuscripts accordingly prior to submission.
- Basic Manuscript Requirements
- Word Count: Up to 10,000 characters/words (including the main text, figures, tables, and references).
- Language: Chinese.
- Layout & Typography:
- Paper Size: A4
- Margins: 5 cm for top, bottom, left, and right margins
- Line Spacing: 1.5 lines
- Font:
- Main Text: Songti (SimSun), Size 10.5 pt (Small 4 / 小四)
- Headings: Songti (SimSun), Size 14 pt (4 / 四), Bold
- Alignment: Justified
- Structural Requirements
- Title:
- Chinese Title: Maximum of 20 Chinese characters, centered, Songti, Size 14 pt, Bold.
- English Title: Maximum of 15 words, centered, Times New Roman, 12 pt, Bold.
- Author Information:
- Must include full name(s), affiliation(s), academic title(s), contact information, and email address(es).
- For multi-authored papers, please use superscript numbers next to the names, and specify each author’s contribution at the end of the text.
- Abstract:
- Chinese Abstract: Up to 300 characters, summarizing the research objectives, methods, results, and conclusions.
- English Abstract: Corresponding to the Chinese version, up to 250 words.
- Keywords:
- Chinese Keywords: 3–5 keywords, separated by semicolons.
- English Keywords: Corresponding to the Chinese keywords, 3–5 words.
- Main Text:
- Section headings should be numbered sequentially using Arabic numerals (e.g., 1, 1.1, 1.1.1).
- In-text citations should follow the format: “(Zhang, 2020)” or “Zhang (2020) indicated that…”.
- Figures, tables, and mathematical formulas must be numbered sequentially (e.g., Figure 1, Table 1).
- Figures, Tables, and Formulas:
- Titles for figures and tables must be placed above them, centered, using Songti, Size 10.5 pt.
- Data sources must be explicitly stated for all figures and tables.
- Mathematical formulas must be numbered independently, right-aligned, in the format of (1), (2), etc.
- Conclusion:
- Succinctly summarize the research findings and contributions.
- Future research directions and policy recommendations can be proposed.
- Acknowledgments (Optional):
- Briefly acknowledge institutions or individuals who provided support during the research process.
- References:
- Follow the APA referencing style. Chinese references must be listed first, followed by English references.
- Example (Journal Article):
張三, 李四 (2020). 旅遊管理中的智慧化發展. 旅遊學刊, 35(4), 25-38.

- Submissions must be original research achievements that have not been published previously or are not currently under peer review by other publications.
- The journal operates under a double-blind peer review system. Please remove any information that may reveal the authors’ identities from the manuscript prior to submission.
- The editorial office will provide preliminary review feedback within 30 working days.
