Pursuant to Orders of the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture No. 47/2026 and No. 48/2026, published in the Official Gazette of the Macao Special Administrative Region on 13 July 2026, Macau Millennium College’s Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Tourism and Entertainment Management and Associate Degree Programme in Tourism and Entertainment Management have been officially approved for renaming as the Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Smart Tourism and Entertainment Management and the Associate Degree Programme in Smart Tourism and Entertainment Management, respectively.

Both programmes have now formally completed higher education programme registration with the Education and Youth Development Bureau of the Macao SAR Government. Their registration numbers are IM-A08-LA1-0526A-39 and IM-A05-AA1-0226B-40, respectively. The revised academic and teaching arrangements and study plans took effect on 14 July 2026 and apply to new students admitted in the 2026/2027 academic year and thereafter. Current students will continue to complete their studies under the original study plans.

Deepening “Digital and Intelligent+” Integration and Building a Distinctive Programme Portfolio

Both programmes fall within the academic field of tourism management and are delivered face-to-face in Chinese and English. The revised curricula deeply integrate digital and intelligent technologies with tourism and entertainment management. Core subjects include Big Data and Tourism Analytics, Introduction to Smart Entertainment Management, and Tourism Information Systems and Technology. The bachelor’s degree programme also introduces distinctive subjects such as Smart Entertainment Experience Design and Evaluation, New Media Marketing in Tourism, and Tourism Service Quality and Customer Experience Management.

In addition, the programmes offer a broad range of electives covering smart tourism; leisure and wellness management; convention, exhibition and event management; entertainment industry operations; hotel and resort management; and food and beverage operations, comprehensively strengthening students’ applied and innovative capabilities.

Responding to Diversified Development Needs and Nurturing Applied Digital and Intelligent Talent

The approval of these programme revisions fully reflects the strong recognition by the Secretariat for Social Affairs and Culture and the Education and Youth Development Bureau of the Macao SAR Government of Macau Millennium College’s curriculum reform and talent development efforts. The College will continue to enhance its “Digital and Intelligent+” talent development system and nurture applied professionals with subject expertise, an innovative spirit, an international outlook and digital and intelligent capabilities. In doing so, it will contribute to Macao’s development as a World Centre of Tourism and Leisure and to the city’s appropriately diversified economic development.
