Macau Millennium College Hosts the “Mentors and Friends Together: Learning and Integration in Harmony” Student–Teacher Engagement Themed Activities

On 16 June, Macau Millennium College (“MMC”) hosted the “Mentors and Friends Together, Learning and Integration in Harmony” student-teacher engagement themed activities. Through “Meet with the Rector: Tea Gathering and Dialogue”, “Exploring Art Together: Student-Teacher Exhibition Visit”, “Dining Together in Unity: Student-Teacher Dinner” and other activities, MMC created a platform for face-to-face exchange between teachers and students, deepening mutual understanding, building consensus, and fostering an open, inclusive campus atmosphere of mutual learning and shared growth.

At the “Meet with the Rector: Tea Gathering and Dialogue” session, students spoke freely and engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as academic life, classroom experience and campus development. While expressing their gratitude to MMC, they also put forward suggestions on improving facilities and enhancing curriculum development.

Professor Zhong Weihe, Rector of MMC, responded attentively to the students’ needs. He noted that MMC is guided by the principle of “everything for students, for all students, and for every aspect of student development”. MMC has always placed students’ growth and success at the centre of its work, caring not only about their academic development, but also about their physical and mental wellbeing, all-round development and future career planning. MMC is committed to creating a sound learning environment and development platform for every student. Looking ahead, MMC will continue to uphold its student-centred approach to education, further improve its talent development system and student service mechanisms, listen to students’ voices, respond to their needs, and support every student in their learning and growth.

Faculty members and students then visited the Macao Museum of Art, where they joined a guided tour of the exhibition “Duet of Nature: Ming and Qing Landscape Paintings from the National Museum of China”. Through the exhibition visit, they appreciated the distinctive charm of traditional Chinese art together.

At the “Dining Together in Unity: Student-Teacher Dinner”, teachers and students gathered over a shared meal, exchanging views and experiences on growth in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. The dinner helped bring teachers and students closer and strengthened their emotional bonds. Notably, the dinner received strong support from Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Macau) Limited.

With its varied formats and rich substance, the “Mentors and Friends Together: Learning and Integration in Harmony” student–teacher engagement themed activities not only brought teachers and students closer and deepened emotional exchange, but also further built consensus on development and energised campus life. The activities fully reflected MMC’s educational philosophy of fostering virtue through education and putting students first, as well as the positive spirit of teachers and students advancing and growing together. Going forward, MMC will continue to deepen the development of platforms for student–teacher interaction and exchange, and strive to create an educational environment with warmth, depth and aspiration, making continued efforts to cultivate talent for the new era with a strong sense of national responsibility, an international outlook and an innovative spirit.
